Standard End-Suction Pump Series

Double Suction Volute Casing Pumps

Axially Split Double Suction Volute Casing Pumps
Omega, RDLO & RDLP Series

As part of the complete technology transfer package, Pumpnix offers the Omega, RDLO, and RDLP series – a proven range of axially split volute casing pumps with double-entry impellers, engineered in accordance with international standards (DIN/ISO/ANSI).

These pumps are widely used in water supply, power generation, desalination, irrigation, fire protection, and industrial water systems. Their design features include robust construction, hydraulic stability due to axial/radial force balancing, high efficiency, long service life, and ease of maintenance.

The axially split casing allows direct access to the rotor and bearings without dismantling the pipework, significantly reducing downtime and service costs.

At Pumpnix, we deliver this pump series with:
Complete 3D CAD models
Detailed technical drawings
Casting patterns for every part
Engineering documentation

Whether for a large-scale manufacturing setup or targeted production of spare parts, this package supports the establishment and training of your in-house engineering team, enabling them to independently manage the design, production, and maintenance of double suction pumps.

Installation Plan and Engineering Know-How

As part of the complete technology transfer package, Pumpnix provides a detailed Installation Plan for every pump type. These technical documents are not merely drawings, but essential engineering references that define:

  • Precise dimensions of suction and discharge flanges

  • Baseplate layout and anchor bolt positioning

  • Maintenance clearance and coupling alignment tolerances

  • Maximum allowable forces and moments on the nozzles, based on ISO 5199 / ISO 9905 guidelines

These drawings ensure accurate pump mounting, long-term reliability, and mechanical integrity during operation.

With its deep engineering expertise and hands-on manufacturing experience, Pumpnix empowers your technical team to fully understand and implement these standards.
We don’t just provide the drawings — we transfer the knowledge behind them, train your engineering staff, and help you build a structured technical archive for every pump series in your production line

Hydraulic Performance & Coverage Charts

As part of the complete technology transfer package, Pumpnix delivers precise hydraulic performance charts (coverage charts) for the Double Suction Pump series. These charts illustrate the operating envelope of each pump type across the three standard motor speeds (2900 / 1450 / 960 RPM), and are further defined based on impeller trim diameters to ensure accurate alignment with project-specific operating conditions.

The diagrams include key hydraulic parameters such as head, flow rate (Q), shaft power, motor performance, and NPSH requirements. In addition, detailed datasheets, dimensional specifications, and component-level parts lists are prepared for each double suction pump model. These engineering documents are essential tools during the pump factory setup phase, supporting accurate product selection, production planning, and sales engineering.

At Pumpnix, we not only provide these documents — we integrate them into your engineering department, train your technical and sales teams, and help establish a structured engineering archive for the double suction pump family. The sample diagrams and datasheets shown above represent real technical documentation from the Double Suction series, serving as a foundation for both learning and practical implementation

Sectional Design and Internal Function of the Double Suction Pump

The Double Suction Pump is engineered with a double-entry radial impeller placed inside an axially split volute casing. Fluid enters simultaneously from both sides of the impeller through the dual suction nozzles, which balances axial forces and minimizes bearing loads. The impeller converts fluid velocity into pressure within the volute chamber.

The pump shaft passes through the casing and is sealed using either a stuffing box or a mechanical seal, while supported by rolling element bearings located in heavy-duty bearing brackets. Renewable wear rings and shaft protecting sleeves ensure long service life and simplified maintenance.

This sectional design provides hydraulic stability, easy access for servicing, and high reliability in continuous operation.

As part of the Pumpnix technology transfer package, we provide detailed ballooned sectional drawings, parts lists, and component-level documentation, enabling your engineering and production teams to gain clear understanding of each component, its function, and the know-how to manufacture and maintain double suction pumps independently.

Exploded Views of the Double Suction Pump

Component-Level Understanding

For the Double Suction Pump series, Pumpnix provides detailed exploded views that clearly display every individual component of the pump assembly — including the axially split casing parts, double-entry impeller, shaft and shaft sleeves, bearings and bearing brackets, and the shaft seals. These diagrams provide engineers with a complete visualization of how all components are arranged and interact within the pump system.

Such documentation is essential for manufacturing, assembly training, and maintenance planning. By understanding the exploded layout, engineering teams gain the ability to reproduce each part, ensure accurate assembly alignment, and plan for service interventions effectively.

As part of the technology transfer package, Pumpnix delivers these exploded views along with 3D CAD models, comprehensive parts lists, and detailed engineering documentation, establishing a structured reference archive to support independent design, production, and long-term operation of double suction pumps.

Dimensional Drawings of the Double Suction Pump

Precision for Manufacturing and Installation For the Double Suction Pump series, Pumpnix provides comprehensive dimensional drawings that specify all critical measurements of the pump assembly. These drawings include the overall dimensions, centerline height, nozzle sizes and orientations, foundation bolt positions, and the coupling dimensions required for motor or driver alignment.

Such drawings ensure accuracy in casting and machining, support precise assembly and foundation design, and facilitate smooth integration with piping systems and drivers.

As part of the technology transfer package, these dimensional drawings are delivered together with 3D CAD models, manufacturing tolerances, and installation guidelines, giving your engineering team the full framework needed for production planning, plant layout, and on-site installation of the double suction pump family.
